Arbre have just launched a new training program – the Forestry Operator Pre-Employment Program.
There are no eligibility requirements for this program which has been developed as an entry level training program open to anyone.
The first of these program’s will be run from 24th-28th March 2025, applications are now open and will close on 18th March 2025 unless the course is fully booked prior to this date. Further dates will be released in due course.
The training will be delivered at the Arbre facility in Invermay, Tasmania, by Timber Training Creswick (RTOID 4168).
These programs are designed to be conducted in small groups and will only run with 6-8 trainees per course, ensuring that Trainers can give more individual attention to each trainee. The cost per trainee for this training Program is $950.00.
This entry level program is a 5 day course and will provide the following Certificate II Forest Operations units of learning:
- Follow workplace health and safety policies and procedures in forest and wood products operations
This unit of competency provides the skills and knowledge required to follow established workplace health and safety policies and procedures when performing work in a forestry or wood products work environment.
- Follow environmental protection procedures in forest and wood products operations
This unit of competency provides the skills and knowledge required to follow established environmental protection procedures when performing work in a forestry or wood products work environment.
- Operate a forest machine simulator in a virtual environment
This unit of competency provides the skills and knowledge required to use a forestry machine simulator in a virtual forest environment for practicing work methods before learning to operate real equipment.
