Location: Derby
Role: Casual (Potential of a Traineeship/ Apprenticeship)
We are seeking a passionate, experienced and/or junior Bicycle Mechanic / Retail Worker to join our dynamic team at bark off biking’ in Derby, Tasmania. This casual position offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant retail environment, combining your expertise in bicycle maintenance and repair with excellent customer service skills. Please only apply if you are a keen mountain biker, trail knowledge will come with experience however applicants MUST be into mountain biking.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing professional bicycle repair and servicing to maintain our customers’ and rental bikes in top condition
- Assisting customers with product selection and offering expert advice on biking equipment and accessories
- Maintaining a clean, organised and well-stocked retail space
- Handling cash and card transactions while providing a seamless shopping experience
- Supporting the wider team with various store operations as required
What we’re looking for:
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in bicycle mechanics and repair
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance
- Enthusiasm for the cycling industry and a passion for helping others enjoy the sport
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends
A successful applicant will have:
- Current Police Check (Required)
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card (Required
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual work
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic
- Drivers License
