Job Description
Key Responsibilities and Performance Requirements:
Provide exemplary customer service to both external and internal customers;
• Undertake maintenance of rural roads, bridges and stormwater systems;
• Undertake general road maintenance including but not limited to patching, potholing, shoulder maintenance, grading and culvert repairs;
• Assist in the delivery of Council’s Capital Works Program including street and road construction and bridge, footpath, stormwater and drainage works;
• Perform vegetation management activities such as slashing, brush cutting, and the application of herbicides to control weed growth;
• Proper and safe operation of Council plant items, including but not limited to backhoe, excavator, light rigid and heavy rigid truck, grader, small plant and tools;
• Daily inspection and cleaning of nominated plant items;
• Accurate record keeping including but not limited to timesheets, customer service requests, worksite specific reports and incident reports;
• Interact and communicate with all stakeholders (internal and external) in a helpful, friendly and positive manner;
• Maintaining a working knowledge of and operating effectively in accordance with Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Operation Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), licence conditions and safety guidelines.

• Maintain a working knowledge of legislative requirements and Council’s policies and procedures relevant to the role;
• Comply with any direction or education provided by Council to safeguard the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals, including children and young people;
