Job Description
Bridport Bay Inn is looking for a reliable, motivated and hardworking Cook/Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis, with approximately 38 hours per week available.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy, hands-on kitchen, takes pride in producing quality food and enjoys being part of a friendly, hardworking team.
The Role
You’ll be involved in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including:
- Preparing and cooking menu items to a consistently high standard
- Working efficiently throughout busy service periods
- Assisting with food preparation and kitchen organisation
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Completing kitchen cleaning and close-down duties
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Following food safety and hygiene requirements
About the Position
- Full-time position – approximately 38 hours per week
- Regular weekday, weekend and public holiday shifts
- Busy, hands-on kitchen environment
- Opportunity to have input into specials and menu ideas
- A good mix of prep, service and creating great food
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous cooking or commercial kitchen experience (preferred)
- Enjoys cooking and takes pride in the food they produce
- Works well under pressure and can keep up during busy services
- Has a strong work ethic and is happy to get stuck in
- Is reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Works well as part of a team
- Has good attention to detail and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised kitchen
- Has a positive, can-do attitude
Experience in a pub, bistro or similar kitchen environment is an advantage, but we’re more interested in finding the right person with a strong work ethic and good attitude.
