Job Description
The Dorset Hotel in Derby are seeking a Cook / Chef to join their team. Working under the Group Executive Chef you will be:
- Assembling and preparing ingredients for cooking
- Cooking
- Baking
- Pastry cooking
- Butchering
- Ordering and stock control
- Performing general cleaning duties
- Other tasks as directed
Qualifications:
- Certificate II or III in Commercial Cookery (desirable, not essential)
- Food safety training (desirable, not essential)
- First aid certificate (desirable, not essential)
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role or industry – preferable, not essential
- A keen desire to follow this career path
- Experience in managing and maintaining food safety program including documentation
- Driver’s License
Skills:
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work within a team and autonomously
- Basic knife skills
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members including following directions
- Monitoring and supervising WHS standards and procedures
- Organised and able to meet deadlines
