Job Description

The Dorset Hotel in Derby are seeking a Cook / Chef to join their team. Working under the Group Executive Chef you will be:

  • Assembling and preparing ingredients for cooking
  • Cooking
  • Baking
  • Pastry cooking
  • Butchering
  • Ordering and stock control
  • Performing general cleaning duties
  • Other tasks as directed

Qualifications:

  • Certificate II or III in Commercial Cookery (desirable, not essential)
  • Food safety training (desirable, not essential)
  • First aid certificate (desirable, not essential)

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or industry – preferable, not essential
  • A keen desire to follow this career path
  • Experience in managing and maintaining food safety program including documentation
  • Driver’s License

Skills:

  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Basic knife skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members including following directions
  • Monitoring and supervising WHS standards and procedures
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines
