Pathfinder Care is one of Tasmania’s fastest growing disability support organisations, proudly supporting more than 200 participants and employing over 300 dedicated staff across the North and North East. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Occupational Health & Safety Advisor to join our team and help us maintain the highest standards of safety, wellbeing, and compliance across all Pathfinder Care services.
About the Role
The OHS Advisor will work closely with leadership, support workers, and participants to ensure safe work practices, risk management, and compliance with WHS legislation and NDIS requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and review safety policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and incident investigations
- Provide safety training, inductions, and ongoing coaching to staff
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, NDIS Practice Standards, and organisational policies
- Support emergency planning, hazard identification, and safety reporting
- Maintain accurate safety records, incident logs, and documentation
- Build a positive safety culture across all Pathfinder Care locations
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about safety and has strong people skills.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
- Demonstrated experience in WHS or OHS advisory roles
- Strong understanding of WHS laws, risk assessment, and incident management
- Excellent communication, documentation, and training skills
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
Desirable
- Experience in disability, community services, or healthcare settings
- Knowledge of NDIS compliance and restrictive practice frameworks
