The Hub in Derby are seeking a Pizza Cook, or a Trainee Pizza Cook – if you have a passion for pizza, then get in touch!
The Hub pizza and beer is located in Derby, north-east Tasmania, home of The Blue Derby Mountain Bike trails. We are looking for someone who loves pizza and is willing to pursue excellence in wood-fired pizza making – from dough making, to topping and cooking – and customer service in general.
Whether you are after a few days per week, or looking for an opportunity to build a career, this could be what you are after.
- You will need to be able to work as part of a team in a very busy environment,
- Think laterally and manage various priorities
- Follow direction well and have the ability to work efficiently alone.
You will need to follow procedures to ensure excellence in product quality and customer service.
Key aspects of the position:
- learning to cook pizzas to The Hub’s high standards;
- making dough;
- preparing a wide range of ingredients and menu items;
- dish washing; and cleaning.
Although front of house customer service is not a key area for this position, a person with excellent interpersonal skills will be well regarded, as this can be part of the role in the future.
The team at The Hub works hard, aims for excellence, and has fun while doing so. The position is on a casual basis under the Restaurant Industry Award, with hours ranging throughout the day over a seven day roster. Shifts can be as short as around three hours, or a full seven or eight hour day. We recognise different people are looking for different amounts of hours and will negotiate weekly hours with successful applicants.
The ideal candidate will be local to the area looking for long-term employment.
