Job Description
The Bridport Newsagency and Post Office are seeking a Retail Customer Service Officer to join their team, working across both news and lotto and Australia Post aspects of the business, servicing locals and tourists alike. Every year around one million customers walk into one of our Australia Post Offices. It’s our retail teams who make sure that every experience they have is a great one. And while they do, they’re supported by a welcoming team, take part in ongoing training, and are guided on career development opportunities.
Role Details:
- Opportunity to join the retail team in Bridport
- Casual shifts, working Monday to Friday with various shifts between 9am -5pm, with potential for some weekend work
- Extensive, supportive training is provided through Australia Post and The Lott on commencement in the role
You’ll be:
- Performing customer sales and service transactions with customers
- Managing high value transactions accurately (handling and processing cash, cheques, credit cards and EFTPOS)
- Conducting and processing several identity services transactions
- Promoting our products and services through up-selling and cross-selling, merchandising and other promotional activities
- Assisting customers with mail lodgements and associate costs
- Building rewarding relationships with customers by understanding their needs
- Assisting with administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance
- Sorting mail and parcels
- There is potential for the role to also include mail delivery
About you
You’re friendly, enthusiastic, reliable, have a strong attention to detail and you love working in a team environment. You’re ready to put the customer at the centre of everything you do to help make a difference in the community.
You’ll also need to:
- Have experience in customer service and/or cash handling
- Be fit to lift up to 16kgs of mail regularly and stand for your shift
- Complete a National Police check
- Current Australian Driver’s License is required
