Located in Bridport Tasmania, Clovelly is a self-contained dairy farm, milking 4,000 cows, raising heifer replacements and beef. The property is 2,250 arable hectares, 1,150 hectares under pivot irrigation. Two 54 bale rotary dairies milk cows 2AD. Operation is supported by Halter virtual fencing and cow monitoring in addition to excellent facilities. 

The Role: Team Leader 

The Team leader will report to the Farm Manager and will work closely with the Leadership Team and Dairy Team. This is a hands on role, working alongside of your team, developing and shaping individual and collective performance. 

Day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not limited to: 

  • Supervising milk harvesting to optimise quality, efficiency, and yield.
  • Identifying and repairing faults in the milking plant and equipment
  • Monitor, identify and treat animal health issues. 
  • Maintain and update herd records.
  • Implement and monitor the reproduction management plan. 
  • Execute and plan cattle movements to optimise efficiency of the milking process and maximise cow intake whilst maintaining optimum pasture quality.
  • Monitor fences, stock water and irrigation completing daily maintenance where necessary. 
  • Communicating clearly and openly. 
  • Induct, train and lead.

Suitable applicants should have the following: 

  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience dairy industry. 
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent understanding and practical experience of milk harvesting, pasture management, pasture management & machinery operation.
  • Ability to develop and execute standardise process to promote efficient, effective production outcomes.
  • Care about people.
  • Care about cattle.
