About the role
Dorset Council are seeking a Town Maintenance Laborer. This is a hands on role predominantly based in the Derby area that helps keep our towns, parks, cemeteries, recreational spaces and community assets well presented.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will undertake a variety of maintenance activities including parks and gardens maintenance, general town upkeep, minor construction works, operation of plant and equipment, and maintenance of Council assets.
Our ideal candidate will:
– Be comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
– Take pride in maintaining public spaces and delivering quality work
– Have a strong commitment to workplace health and safety
– Be adaptable, reliable and willing to undertake a diverse range of maintenance activities
– Hold a current drivers licence and relevant industry licences and accreditations, or have the ability to obtain them
– Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:
– Parks, gardens, reserves or open space maintenance
– Landscaping, construction or civil maintenance
– Operation of mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, tractors, trucks, backhoes or similar plant and equipment

– Annual base salary of $71,893 plus 12% superannuation
– Fortnightly rostered day off
