Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our Derby Mountain Bike Trail Maintenance Crew. In this position, you will play a fundamental role in maintaining some of Australia’s most iconic mountain bike trails. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a world-class trail network while working alongside a committed and skilled crew.
- Full time role, worked over 9 days each fortnight, providing a regular day off every second week;
- Base salary ranges from $71,551.48 to $74,446.84 p.a., based on relevant skills and experience;

As our ideal candidate, you will be a proactive and capable leader, responsible for supervising a small team, coordinating daily operations, supporting trail construction and maintenance activities, and ensuring the safe and effective operation of equipment. The following experience and skills will support a smooth and successful transition into the role:
- Demonstrated ability to supervise a small team;
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the maintenance and construction of mountain bike trails, walking tracks or similar;
- Experienced and capable of confidently navigating challenging and technical terrain on a mountain bike at an advanced level, including in changing weather conditions;
- A commitment to delivering high-quality work, prioritising work health and safety, and thriving in a hands-on outdoor environment;
- Physical capability to perform manual labour and operate relevant equipment, and a willingness to work in outdoor conditions year-round;
- A current unrestricted driver’s licence (car and motorcycle), White Card accreditation, chemical handling and chainsaw operation certifications;
- Experience operating small excavators for trail construction and maintenance (highly regarded).
Candidates with substantial trail maintenance and construction experience who show strong leadership potential will be considered.
